About Funka

Funka started as a non-profit by disability organizations and is now a private leading consultancy in accessibility and user experience. We have offices in Stockholm, Oslo and Madrid and customers all over the world. We develop websites, we analyze and do user testing and we train. We are also performing research and we are active in standardization.

Why Funka Became a Founding Member

"For many years we have seen how the lack of a professional minimum level among accessibility experts creates problems," says Susanna Laurin, CEO at Funka and board member of IAAP. "There has been a need for an organization like this for many years, but this was the first time we thought the group of founders had a chance to make it come true. We are very proud to be co-founders of IAAP."

Funka's Goals for IAAP

"Our hope is that IAAP will help make the market for accessibility experts a respected and well working one," says Laurin. "What is already happening is that the knowledge sharing has increased when people and organizations have come together to discuss important issues. Of course, we hope that this will continue and that the community we are building will grow and flourish."
