In this course we will talk about the different types of assistive technology that most people use frequently in accessibility testing.


  • Participants will learn about the different types of assistive technology 
  • Participants will gain an understanding of different types of screen readers and how to use them
  • Participants will learn how to use a screen reader for accessibility testing

Speaker Bios:

Divi Addepalli has 12+ years of hands-on experience across wide range of research and designs practices including, accessibility research, user interfaces designs, web architecture, wireframes and prototypes design, interaction design research, and other UX research and design disciplines resulting in a well-rounded body of work, dealing with high profile programs, products, clients and highly secure projects with sensitive information.

She has successfully designed and conducted Accessibility + Usability studies, comparative benchmark studies, and generative research for existing, and upcoming products for many of our clients with different types of user personas on products like (Mobiles, tablets, laptops) and platforms like (Windows, Apple, Google and Android). She is an evangelist for User Experience and with her research creates successful awareness for usability and inclusive designs for future products and services. She is recognized by peers and superiors for ability to effectively blend business needs with research/design goals and lead successful, solution-focused projects from inception to completion

Ankur Garg has 12+ years of experience in IT Industry and worked on different domains like Health, Retail, Telecom, CMS, Localization, Compatibility and Accessibility. Ankur has extensive experience in automation and manual testing including Requirement Analysis, Identifying Test Scenarios, Risk Analysis, Generating Test Plans, Test Cases, Project Status Reporting, Team Reporting, Project Closure Report(s). He has ability to resolve technical queries & clarifications across Accessibility rules, WCAG guidelines, Section 508 Standards.

Ankur is certified with "Trusted Tester Certification" from Department of Homeland Security. He also successfully completed accessibility certification from Deque. He is working as Accessibility SME and works on different platforms - Web, Mobile(Android, iOS, Windows Phone), Universal Apps, OSX.
