GAAD 2020

IAAP Celebrates YOU!

Throughout the month of May, IAAP will be celebrating our members through their shared stories of how they are United in Accessibility.  We are asking members to submit a short (60-90 second) video of themselves sharing a little information about yourself and how you champion accessibility.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) began as an idea from a social media post in 2011 to bring awareness to digital accessibility. Joe Devon and Jennison Asuncion decided to create an event each year to celebrate. This is what we now know as GAAD, celebrated the third Thursday of May each year.

Our GAAD 2020 Video in a YouTube iframe follows. This displays our IAAP GAAD 2020 video with instructions on how to participate.

What should you say in your video?:

Tell us about YOU:
  • Your name and where you work (if you’re allowed to or would like to share)
  • How long you’ve been an IAAP Member?
  • If you are an IAAP volunteer, what role or roles?
  • How you got started in accessibility?
  • How you are uniting the world in accessibility?

What should the video look like?

  • If you can caption your video, GREAT!?  If not, we will caption the video for you.
