Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) began as an idea from a social media post in 2011 to bring awareness to digital accessibility. Joe Devon and Jennison Asuncion decided to create an event each year to celebrate. This is what we now know as GAAD, celebrated the third Thursday of May each year.
